Dear SOCOM faithful,

Some of you may have heard through your favorite media outlets that SOCOM 4 is now a 2011 title, and we are writing this letter to you, our community, to confirm that SOCOM 4 is indeed scheduled for release in 2011.

While we're certainly aware that you've been looking forward to playing SOCOM 4 this year, we don't want to take any shortcuts. Instead, we want to deliver the best and most immersive SOCOM game we possibly can and we're going to use our extra time to do just that.

I'm kind of glad. Too many games coming out this fall. Plus more time hopefully equals more polish.

i was depressed when i read this yesterday, but then again i realized regardless of whether they could have it done or not it was the smart choice for sales, honestly why try and compete with Halo:Reach and COD:6, a smart choice by zipper/sony

btw does anyone else wish they had the convoy game mode still??? I had a dream about it last night and remembered how exciting that mode was

Called this. And yea penguin convoy mode meant forced action instead of campfest. Convoy showed who had the skills and who didnt. And that equals mad fun

This why no one should pre order a game...

Yeah convoy was pretty fun you actually had to have a team with good communication and use different tactics and strategies to get the the zone safely and back.

I hope they update the controls. I tried to play today and realized the controls are just ridiculous and dated, especially since they added run and melee, just too many functions and not enough buttons. They need to streamline it. It pains me to say that since I've used the original controls since the first Socom, but it needs to be done at this point.

Also realized why I stopped playing Confrontation, it sucks. I still think it is like someone took Socom II and buried it in Pet Semetary, and it came back to life but it was all fucked up. The frontend and menus are just too damn annoyingly slow as well. Look forward to the new game and playing with all of you again.
