The first Call of Duty 4 update has just been released, and it does wonders for the game.

Upon booting up your COD4 disc, you'll be prompted to download and
install COD4 v1.10, the newly released patch. We noticed that when
entering an online game (we tried free-for-all and team deathmatch) it
took approximately 15 and 30 seconds to find a game, compared to the
standard minute it would take pre-patch.

Besides the current networking fixes, numerous changes will soon be
made to both the gameplay and feature set of the title. For more

I knew it the update was to prepare for the patch, which should be out soon hopefully..
