This is going to be great and all, but it just doesnt look like socom. This guy is a douche too, he sounds like he has never played either.

Yeah, I was thinking that too when he was talking about the AT-4. I'm kind of sick of seeing the pre-alpha build bullshit and being discouraged. I want to see some polished gameplay. At this point with the body armor and knife attack and over the shoulder view, it seems like Slant 6 is just taking their PSP version to the PS3. All I keep hearing is that it is going to be more like S1 or S2 and that is not at all what I am seeing. But I can't pass judgement until I have played it.

That's fine and I can deal with that as long as you always stay the same faction no matter what side of the map you spawn on i.e. staying commandos the whole time or staying mercenaries the whole time. I can't believe I just typed that, "mercenaries", I should have know this series shit the bed when they went P.C. as well as taking out blood.

Man i miss blood. The shooting looks kinda weak too. So far, not up to my expectations. Real test will be Zippers SOCOM 4.

I think it looks preety sweet. Don't know what everyone is complaining about. And there is blood in the game.

Thats exactly what I was thinking.. once they stopped calling them terrorists it all went downhill.. And now this isnt even SOCOM "U.S. NAVY SEALS" anymore its SOCOM "And some other people"

And also what the fuckn is the deal with them saying that this will be just like S2 a year ago? Right now the only thing I see thats the same is Crossroads..

And lastly, It seems that every time they release some new info about the game I seem to dislike it even more.. Am I the only one??

The thing is there changing the game and making it like all other shooter games. The only reason why I only played socom was b/c it wasnt like every other game..

i duno about everyone talkin about s1 or s2 cuz i never played them but what was so wrong with s3? i thought s3 was the fuckin shit. What do you all want exactly what s1 and s2 were just with better graphics? I hope you say no cuz thats ridiculous. I'm not saying I like all the features they have so far but when you make a new game there better b new shit in it or its pointless... I don't even agree with bringing back old maps its called a new game for a reason...I'm not gona buy Super Mario 3 if they just remade the exactly same thing with better graphics....

It doesnt matter ya know we are all buying it.

If they updated the graphics and got rid of the cheaters on Socom II, I would probably still play that. I played that game for close to 3 years and never got sick of it.
S3/CA the maps were too big and plucked from the single player which made them uneven and they made just about every gametype for each map, some maps weren't made to be played as extraction, escort, etc. The only thing I liked about these games were the weapon attachments and making the weapons a little more rounded.
It sounds like Slant 6 is going down the right road but I don't think body armor, sprinting, melee, are necessary. Again, there is no need to reinvent the wheel. If anybody was going to change anything, I wish Infinity Ward would get rid of respawn, add a real clan system and friend's list, and make it 3rd person.

god, i cant believe you guys liked S2 IMO that was the worst one other then the maps, but to each their own. Make S1 with the perfect hit detection and no cheaters and you got me skipping work again to play it.

I liked S2 b/c I never played S1.. but S2 was almost perfect

S1 rocked the house off it's foundation, I called in sick regularly so I could log a 20 hour day playing that shit lol. I would take like 30 mins off so I could run to Micky D's for food. The phrase socrack was coined during socom 1. Best of all there were several ladder sites that were all pretty good, and clans like dark patriots and 7th cast ran the biggest tournies around from their own web sites most of the time. Clans were clans back then made up mostly of friends not whores. It's been so long now since then I can barely remember what Rat's Nest looked like with the lights on.....
