PATCH!!!!

HOLY SHIT! SOCOM IS BACK!

The strafing speed, and movement speed has been increased. I dont feel all sluggish anymore. Gunfights are better, and you feel more in control of your character....I feel fast now as I move. guns are SUPER accurate, even at long range, not much bloom, its AWESOME guys. You can barely throw PE4s LMAO, they go like 5 feet max. Still strong though. Spawn system works like a charm now, and camera collision is all but gone from the one map I played so far. I was testing it around some objects and tight quarters, so as long as its the same for all maps, shouldnt be any issues.

I dont care about the other fixes right now, the movement, and improved gun accuracy alone is worth the wait!!!!!

Oh, and double win is still there =) notice BT dies faster. not sure if its because of better gun accuracy, or lower health.

the real reason you like it is the center dot obviously, do your controls feel different with the added acceleration and dead zone?

might have to bounce out of the office early today....

Penguins, its a whole new game man. Gunfights are back, everything just feels so much more like socom just based on how you move around faster now. I turned the small ass center dot on, dont even notice it really, lol. I moved the dead zone and acceleration up for a few rounds and it works like you think it would. You can make it move fast like COD if you want.

Nah, the increased movement with the increased accuracy is perfect. Plus if you zoom in over the shoulder, its deadly.

does it feel as drastic as the change did in the beta when they boosted accuracy? does it feel like you can just hipfire people to all hell from a distance? i hope so... then i won't complain about the no shoulder switch and as long as this grame gives me my second set of grenades...

also, do objects to the right of you still collide with the camera, or is it simply only if it's behind you (like it should be)

I dunno, been playing for about a half hour and it seems worse. Before, I could at least participate in a gunfight if I wanted to, but now the game seems even more about long range shit and grenades.

I'll give it more time, but it seems like a different game in the wrong direction to me.

Okay, after playing with the deadzone and acceleration settings, adding the center dot, and removing XP, I like it a lot more. Feels more natural.


Movement actually feels very similar to Medal of Honor, and makes me want a couple of the maps from that stinkier-than-fourms-taint game.
